People where I work call Ken Shamrock "The World's Most Dangerous Mr. Potato Head". Not quite sure why though.

I personally like Sean "The muscle shark" Sherk.

I believe Fedor is know as "The Last Emperor". I could have sworn I have seen that nickname associated with Fedor.

Fedor is known as "The Russian Experiment".

I've always wondered how Loiseau came up with The Crow?

I don't think it was him that came up with that name. His last name means "the bird" in french. so figure that one out...

T-Bone

That would be awesome.

His trash talking could be taken to a whole new level. Want some COUNTRY BREAKFAST, come and get it punk.

That line sir, is pure gold

I am with you ray....I think "country breakfast" is the greatest nickname I have ever seen. The fact that it is not official makes it even better.

But come to think of it, imagine the Roar from the crowd if Buffer comes out with 'In this corner, the WW champion...MATT.....COUNTRY BREAKFAST....HUUUGHESSSS!!!'

It'd be funny if Edwin Dewees left it wide open and agreed to use whatever name got submitted the most. Then we could organize a huge campaign to make him something like Edwin "Geek in a floral-print sundress" Dewees.

How about Frank Trigg? There's a perfect example of a guy going with the nickname his crew gave him, like it or not.

So how long until we can force Hughes to be MAtt "Country Breakfast" Hughes?

Should we start writing letters?

I grew up in a town of 3,000 people and most guys had a nickname. There was Mouse, Boner, Rat, Hood, Gorilla, Star, Moose, Whitey, Red, Weiner, Tiny, Big & Little (brothers), Light, Tonto, Notch, Otts, Boo, Wiesel, Rooster, Fig, Patch, Bomber :~), etc etc.

Did you guys ever break out into song with a little rhythmic dance ? :p

UFC fighters not liking their nicknames reminds me of Reservoir Dogs and Mr Pink - "Why am I Mr. Pink"

And some guys have the same one - the Spider - that TUF3 guy Kendall & Anderson Silva share that one.

And then there's Nick Diaz doesn't have a nickname...or maybe it's just Nick "Name" Diaz

Snow Patrol

I guess it's time to reveal mine. I got the nickname 'Robo' when I was about 10 and it must have come from my last name Robinson or perhaps it was tied in with the popularity of the Robo Cop movies. In any case, it stuck with me.

Some people just love to give others nicknames, I got this friend, who call everybody he knows by some kind of nickname. I guess its his way of remembering everybody, sometimes it just straight hilarious, because the name he picks fits the person perfectly.

:D Anyone who's seen Horn and the original Gumby knows immediately where his nickname came from.

How about Babyface? That's gotta be one of the worst. I heard Dewees has a poll on his site, he's looking for a new nick, but I didn't find it when I searched. Apparently he's considering Bam Bam. A name from the Flinstones cartoon isn't much of a step up if you ask me. And asking for a nickname is not like earning one.

I actually think Horn got Gumby because of his flexibility on the ground (Gumby's made of plasticine, etc). And I agree that it's kind of lame for Dewees to be fishing for a new nickname, but he's kind of sidestepping choosing his own by having the fans vote. At least he'll be able to say "I didn't pick it, my fans gave it to me."

It's considered hugely uncool for a fighter to give himself a nickname.

Some fighters don't even like their nicknames, like Jeremy "Gumby" Horn, and there's a guy they call "Milkman"
